Thank you all. The plein air pastel was done in summer 2021 at the roadside (single track) on the ground using a kneeling-mat. The machair flowers were really beautiful. I invented the gannets today for movement and a focal point.

6.5" x 5" oil on board The references for these two oils are plein air pastels. In this case I used one of my greetings cards, which is already a scaled-down version of the original (but still bigger than this version.)
