Traigh Sgarasta by Roger Gadd

Having only just started using oils very recently, I’m looking at oil paintings through different eyes. I love the colours and the beach looks so convincing

Thanks, Diana. I "liked" your coastal oil earlier on. I thought the same as everyone else: didn't recognise it as yours as I always admire your watercolours and your skill in making a beautiful painting from the kitchen sink. Hope you enjoy oils as well.

This is really good Roger.

Superb piece. Love the simplicity of the composition which really highlights the sweeping landscape and the beautiful palette.

I really like the colours you have used - in the sea particularly. Lovely painting.

14" x 18" oil on canvas. I happened to discover the work of Marion Thomson online yesterday. Beautiful paintings of the Western Isles; many subjects I've painted myself. So I dug out a plein-air watercolour from 2002 and a couple of photographs. This was painted outdoors this afternoon. I'd love to be painting in Harris.
