20" x 16" acrylic. In these unusual times, staff at the school where I work are setting challenges to inspire unconventional home-learning. Today's art challenge involved creating images starting with cast shadows. I used blue pastels on orange pastel paper. Feeling urgently inspired, I painted this abstract this afternoon, based on the pastel studies. I've often wanted to paint abstracts but I struggle to know what shapes and colours to use when I could paint absolutely anything. Today I had some ideas.
