Very good first attempt. Of the paintings you have posted so far, this one and the angler are my favourite so far; the sheep because they feel woolly and the angler because you have really captured the joy of the moment!

Hi Richard, you've done some really nice shadow work on the faces. Stick with it, if this is a new medium for you then you're clearly a natural!

Thank you all for your encouraging words. I shall be painting more with watercolours in time. First I've bought a large canvas for a beautiful image that I've wanted to paint for months now. It will be my best yet.

We have had a good flock of sheep now on the gallery and this one is up with the best. Lovely painting.
