I think (but I may be wrong), that it features in E M Forster's 'Where Angels Fear to Tread' a book I'm just about to start, so I'll have this image in my mind as I read. Beautifully painted as always.

A wonderfully diverse and very enjoyable gallery. This is my favorite. As Lesley says, it is beautifully painted (as are all your paintings) and so very reminiscent of the sundrenched Tuscan countryside.

Thank you both for your kind comments. As the foreground in my reference photos was very boring, I struggled with this painting, changing it several times. In the end, I opted for a vineyard, which seems to have worked. Lesley, I'm already familiar with your work and like it a lot. Enjoy the book! Seok, your paintings are excellent and I'm impressed that you can work in so many different media. Your watercolours are excellent; with the exception of florals, I am not disciplined enough to paint in watercolours, as I like to change things too much as I go along! Best wishes with your painting! Richard

Absolutel gorgeous. the final result is great. Tuscany is beautiful isn't it? A painter's dream subject. Jx

In 2007 my wife and I joined our in-laws in Italy for a two-week holiday. During the vacation, we visited the medieval town of San Gimignano in Tuscany. The town is famous for its 14 towers which are all that survive of the original 72 towers that were originally built. This view is from a few km outside the town, deep in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
