Kingswood water

I really like it Robert and I like the darks. The only thing for me that doesn't read very well is what I think is a snowy bank on the far side; it sort of looks like a whitish oblong block so I think it needs to be grounded more?

I like it; the stark dark-light contrast works well as do the orange-blue complements, and the whole composition is eye-catching and has a slightly abstract feel. I read the white-ish patch as still water.

It is quite dramatic but I would be tempted to lift some highlights at the top of the dark banks and trees.

Love the colours and the beautiful silhouettes but the white stretch is distracting and needs defining Robert.

Thanks Heather, Martin, Stephen and Carole. You have all picked up on a detail that I hadn't. The whitish snowy bank is a stretch of flat water in the reference image, which has turned out being unclear and misleading. Your comments are very useful and I will bear them in mind in future. Thank you all.

Beautifully painted Robert. The contrasting colours give great impact to this painting.
