Acrylic on canvas, size 18 by 24 inches. A two coach train sets off across the Afon Mawddach estuary from Barmouth station, as the sun rises above Cader Idris in Southern Snowdonia National Park. Cader Idris. means 'Idris's Chair'. Idris is usually taken to be the name of a giant, who watches his domain from his throne in the majestic mountain range.
