I like the way you have left the sky light at the bottom, (which it usually is) and your distant hills are fading which is very good for the perspective. Maybe the gate is just a bit heavy as it it is too dominant. You could lift it out a bit with a damp brush, (if you wish). I like your figures they add so much interest Rebecca.

mmm i agree about the gate, and i think i should have used brown instead of black, but i have a thing about black :-) I think the person is a little too short too, the legs are not long enough. thank you for looking at my artwork. :-)

Your paintings have a fresh, happy feel to them, Carole haas given some good advice regarding the gate. I think the figure looks fine, (could be a young girl). Well done Rebecca.

Thank you ever so much Glennis, your comments are much appreciated. When i do another painting that i feel needs a gate i will try a paler version :-)

You make me laugh Rebecca! There is no stopping you! I like how you have created depth in here and also your figure. I think that I am reading the brown line wrongly. Is it a dog lead from her hand? Looking forward to seeing more :)

Hi Sarah, thank you for your comments :-) ummm the line coming the person's arm is a dog lead, and the puddle mess blob is a dog :-p the shadowing went wrong :-)

Love that sky and line off hills Rebecca, not so the gate, try having it open , and instead of having the track that the girl is on going out of the picture, wind it around so it goes through the gateway and disapears into the distance, say, between the hills Try out the compositions on scraps of paper. best Mick

Thank you for your comments Mick, they are appreciated. I am grateful to you for taking the time to look through my artwork and for giving me your advise. :-)

This is a watercolour painting, roghly A6 on Canon Montval 300gsm watercolour paper. It is a countryside theme out of my head. Hope you like it. :-)
