Lovely sky colours Rebecca.

Hi Densie, wow: i only just put this on, and got a comment, :-p thank you :-) do you or others think there is anything wrong with it? :-)

This one is 'on fire' Rebecca!

Wow, what a sky Rebecca. It's wonderful. And there they are my three men in a boat and Montmerency. I love Brusho inks they are such fun colours. Also I have discovered that they behave quite differently than watercolour. The flow together just as they have here.

Hi Fiona :-) I am pleased you like it :-) brusho is so amazing at creating these sunset skies, they create them so easily, and they do flow so much better than watercolours just like Sylvia says. They probably are not like real sunsets, but when i have seen them, they have these colours :-) mine are perhaps more dramatic :-p

Hi Sylvia :-) yes, i felt the sea needed the 3 people in a boat :-) You got me into the Brusho powders by the way :-) i read on one of your paintings that you had used them and were getting used to them, and i have never heard of them and thought yay, something new :-p you are very correct about Brusho behaving differently to watercolours, because each day i use them, i notice not only do they dry a shade lighter, but, they merge into each over and flow alot better, and that is why i feel they are very very very good indeed at creating good sky effects :-) i like that you do not need much powder to create a good nice wash of colour, so the powders are very econmical :-) have you created a range of paintings using Brusho?

Hi Rebecca. If you go to my gallery. I have three separate folios . The third one is called " some new some old" And quite a lot of those are brusho inks. Pease have a look and tell me what you think. You can also buy them in little pallettes in a tray . Round pans plastic box. These are incredibly cheap round about 3 quid. I bought mine directly from brusho. They are wonderful for taking out and about.

:-) ah, so they are not just in pots of powder then.............. well that is good to know, so perhaps just 2 or 3 degatives for me then. :-) the powders would be better if, they had a better way to get the powders out without staining your hands, and work area...... i will have a look at your gallery again, thanks :-) i much prefer them to even inks now or other brands of watercolours ,but i just wish they were lightfast..............i find the powders if you are clever, means you have the ability of making your own paints, i think though not tried, if you have gum arabic, and mixed with some powder, you would have your own form of watercolours..........linseed oil............oil paint.............pva glue and a bit more powder gives a good acrylic paint, i did not add enough powder in my first trial, and it dried too clear and shiny, but adding more powder gave a much better effect, and if you mix relief white paint with it and a little thickening gel, i much prefer this recipe for a fake type of gouache, because whenever i use normal gouache, when it dries, it cracks, even using caran d'ache. it is good brusho can come in trays, i will have a look. :-)

by the way, you know i have been worrying and was told that Brusho is not lightfast? look what the Brusho website says: Brusho Crystal Colour Extensive range of 32(8 new colours) highly concentrated colours - three sizes available : 15gm, 50gm and 100gm which may be purchased individually or in sets as detailed below. • A unique, transparent, highly pigmented water-colour ink powders, exclusively manufactured by us at our factory in Sheffield. Non-Toxic. YAY! lightfast :-)

Clever old you working all those different attributes out. I do know that the pan cheapo box is not light fast , I use them for fun and stuff in my sketch books. I discovered the hard way I had framed one effort and three years later it is fading fast... I sincerely hope the powders are light fast.. I use quit a vibrant / thick mix. And one very large pic has been sold....ooops . Did you look at that portfolio ?

Oh forgot to say , I collect little shallow glass pots... Posh Puds come in them.. I use an old spoon and put dollops of powder in pots and add water . I use a separate plastic pallette if I need to dilute further. I have allots on an old tray. When I stop painting I just put a piece of paper ontop and leave ... They dry out but can be reconstituted with more water. Yes I do get mucky hands but mainly because I use my fingernails to make lines and marks with.

Hi Sylvia :-) ummmmm you know the pan box sets you are using..........the website says they are by a different company called Koi-I-Noor? they are japanese i think. this is the website http://www.colourcraftltd.com/default_f.asp?loc=NewProds.aspx that site only makes out that brusho is in pots of powder. Though as you say, you could quite easily make your own pans with the powders. Yes i did look at your portfolios and commented :-) not many brusho paintings though :-p there are only about 4 :-)

that is a good idea Sylvia :-) i use an ice cube tray for my colours, and i use a medecine plastic spoon to add water from my water pot to the ice tray, then, i pour some powder into the lids of the pots, and tip it from the lids to the ice cube tray. I have little room on my table as i need everything where i can reach, (my reach level is limited) so everything is near by, and there is no room for many pots, hence the ice cube tray has many areas for paint and easier for me as it takes up less space :-) the individual pots idea would be very much easier though, i think i have seen on TV crafting people put their embossing powders into ice cream tubs and use a spoon from that. Your paintings are lovely by the way :-) you need to paint more brusho paintings though :-p

Wow! Great sky :)
