Excellent painting Ralph, its good to experiment you never quite know what you will end up with. In this case you have come up with a very nice piece of work. The texture is great in the photo so I am sure it is much better in the real thing. It doesn't eally give me feeling of peace and concentration, more a sense of drama and expectation. I think the viewer wil be able to see many things in this excellent piece of workdepending on their mood.

An original acrylic and mixed media abstract painting. Acrylic, Sand and Plaster on Canvas Samadhi [samaadhi]: Concentration; the practice of centering the mind in a single sensation or preoccupation. I hope that this painting helps the viewer to this sense of peace and concentration. If you look very very closely you will see four small musical staves only one of which has notes on it. (Unfortunately it is very difficult to see this on the site ). The others are waiting to be filled by the music of your thoughts. The painting took a long time to produce as it was produced using layer upon layer of paint each one treated to stop the colour of the next layer mixiing with the under layer. There is a heavy sense of texture each with for me a personal meaning that I hope to convey to others. The canvas 36" x 24" 92cms x 62cms approx This painting is painted round the edges ready to hang. This is a very experimental work and I would be very interested in comments
