It's such a lovely composition, and so freely painted Sarah, yes, you could go stronger on the shadows, I probably would, but an attractive piece as it stands.

Thanks for your comments on my pic today Sarah. I do think shadows bring interest into a scene. I think this works very well, perhaps you could strengthen the foreground shadow but perhaps it is quite a weak light, which would give soft shadows as you have shown.

As good Sarah just different I feel the foreground is great as it is it doesn't need to be too dominant I feel .overall you have captured a warm almost cloudless day ,with a very pleasing composition .The colours you have used create a lovely harmony throughout. David Harrison

Alan, Stephen, Derek, David and Dennis thank you for your generous comments. I would go darker with the shadows but I'm a bit of a scaredy cat redoing the shadows in watercolour. Without the large shadow in the front,the painting looked flat . So glad that I saw Stephens lovely painting, it reminded me of needing a threshold in a painting to draw the eye further into it.

I wouldn't mind walking on that sunny lovely road Sarah, it looks really inviting! Well done with watercolours!
