Loose and spontaneous, without losing the element of wholeness. I like the minimal brushwork - it lends a lot of movement to the painting.

Sarah love the colour and shape of the vase, great tulips - a lovely painting

Thankyou Seok and Glennis for your kind comments :)

Now you know that I like darker colour and I hope that you won't mind if I say that, to me, this one doesn't look quite finished. I think that you could add some darker colour to the tulips and especially the leaves. This is just my opinion but your 'valentine tulips' (which I remember well) was perfect and I can't help but compare the two. I like the red tulip but I'm not sure about the yellow that you've used.

Thanks Louise. It is done totally differently from the other painting. You know me! I am a scardy cat re- adding the "darks", but I am getting to find my way around the computor and its photoshop etc... I think that I will add some darks to the computer pic and if all goes well I will copy them onto the real thing. I always appreciate your comments, so keep 'em coming :)

Excellent stuff Sarah, well executed, nice, natural look. best Mick

Excellent stuff Sarah, well executed, nice, natural look. Perhaps a touch too tight, or maybe a tighter crop and cut into the subject. It is said, avoid central compositions, but I find this pic is enhanced by its centraalitty.best Mick

Thanks Mick. This one has stumped me a bit, but I have a mount cut into two pieces so that I can play about with framing the picture so as show it off to its best advantage :)
