Such beauty. Lovely background washes. Smashing.

Indeed. A stately representation too, if you don't mind me saying so. Marvellous, elegant washes!

Beautiful. Hope you don't ,mind me asking but what brand of paints and what paper do you use? I've been having difficulty with flowers on the paper I have.

What more to say ! The colours and the composition are beautiful. A real watercolour.

Thank you all. Diana-- I use Winsor and Newton artists watercolours in tubes. I find the tubes so much better for mixing large washes because the colour is soft and you can pick up plenty on a brush rather than scrubbing around on the pans for ages. The paper is Whatman 200lb rough. I know many flower painters like the smooth HP paper but I like this for its whiteness and that it stays damp for quite a long time for those lovely wet in wet effects. Sadly this paper is now out of production it seems. I bought a large stock of it when I discovered this but one day I am going to have to find another paper. Unless anyone knows differently?? Or has a suggestion for a suitable alternative...........? Rachel
