great painting and great action rachel.

Nice painting, good attention to detail. My father was stationed at Coninsby for a couple of years, and I often saw the phantoms and tornado doing their thing. Were you also an RAF "brat"?

No I was married to a navigator on Tornadoes but that picture was for someone as a leaving present - when were you at Coningsby?

Ah - married into the RAF . then apologies, no offence was intended. Us kids that grew up in the RAF were generally known as RAF brats. Usually blamed for of the ills of the local community and schools, when more often it was the local civy kids. We lived in fear of the RAF military police far more than the local plod! My father was a WO, stationed at Coningsby in the mid 80's. Retired now of course. As a matter of interest (or not) he was the longest serving RAF man, and they had to have a long service medal made just for him.

Had fun with this one! It was to commemorate RAF Coninsby's changeover from Tornadoes to Eurofighters, thats why the Tornado is peeling off in the background
