The rufous-breasted accentor (Prunella strophiata) is a species of bird in thePrunellidae family, endemic to the Himalayas, descending in the winter to lower-to-middle altitudes. It is found in Afghanistan, Bhutan, Tibet, India, Myanmar, Nepal, andPakistan. Its natural habitat is temperate forests. 15 cm; 18 g. Has conspicuous supercilium white in front of eye, becoming broader and ochraceous above and behind eye, and blackish lateral crownstripe; blackish cheeks. Song, delivered from rock or occasionally in flight, very frequent at start of breeding. Invertebrates, including worms; small seeds, berries and fruit. Forages in skulking manner on ground beneath bushes. Nest a deep cup of moss, dried stems and lichen, lined with grass. Not globally threatened.
