Great textures in this. I don't know about a step too far because it seems to be balanced.. Maybe the blue in the middle could be slightly less obvious.

No, never worry about going too far - most of us don't go far enough. Just keep painting: you'll soon find out where too far and not far enough are. Never worry about exceeding the limits, there really aren't any .... in time, if you push those boundaries, you'll discover where you want to be: and then you'll move on from that. Just remember - other people's opinions of your work may be helpful, but they should never determine where you're going. Go your own way, always.... yes, take advice, look at your work again in the light of it, but it's your painting, no one else's - and no one else can tell you what you ought to do, it's something you have to discover for yourself or it has no value at all.
