You have achieved a great light in this piece, What an interesting subject.

Great colours and light - very good painting, Philip

I like the interplay of light and shadow - looks like they were out in the midday sun!

Oil? Acrylic? It always helps to know, and the size too - sorry to be demanding! But it does all help to get a better understanding of the piece; which in this case - and however it's painted and whatever size it is - is excellent.

Gouache on Hahnemuhle watercolour paper 200lbs, 24x32 cm. Unlike transparent watercolour I find I can do more in the shadows. My main difficulty at the moment is getting a light colour with high chroma without it looking milky. Any advice on this would be welcome. Thanks to those who commented on the piece.

Lots to see and take in in this one Philip and I like the intricacy of the pattern in the shirt on the right. Typical gouache tones that produce a sort of flatness - I know what you mean about colours looking milky.

I love the sunny colours in this well balanced painting. The way the eye is lead into the distance by the diagonal pattern of people, really great composition.

This is one you can look at and find something different to admire every time, Philip.
