Crumbling Away

Hi Philip, great picture, just love the subject, the textured brick and wood work.I painted one recently of an old bread oven that I found in France traveling last year, but I think I went into to much detail, where as yours seems to hit the right balance, love your to hear your view.

Thanks for the comments. Hi Peter, I know what you mean. I was wondering whether or not to fade this completely at the edges as I wanted the main focus to be the wooden boards in the window opening. Problem was I liked the detail in the crumbling wall too!

Indeed a lovely subject. And very happily done. Have not been to Rhodes but assume that the rocks are similar on a lot of Greek islands with a coral base , hence the lovely soft colours .

Lovely detail in this and I like your palette.

Great composition and the colours are perfect. Lovely painting.

Lovely colours and textures. The stonework is particularly well done.
