I'm sure your client is delighted with this painting. You have really caught the steepness of the lane and the typical Pennine cottages and dry stone walls. Not the place to be at the moment though I bet!

Like this a lot, you have certainly portrayed the atmosphere of the moment and the rugged area that he lived in. But I bet it is beautiful in summer.

Gorgous watercolour Philip, works so well, as has been said the county lane, the stone walls and the cottages all add to the ambience of the painting

Great painting. Wonderful atmosphere and I bet you client is more than happy.

I like the indication of the walker's legs with the creases of his trousers, Philip. A very companionable scene.

Thanks for all the comments!!

This painting was a commission for the gentleman in the picture. He had seen a previous painting I had done on a website and it was an area he had often walked with his dog 'Rupert'. He asked me to do this painting as sadly, Rupert is no longer with us and he wants the picture for his children.
