Greens Norton ringers by Phil Cahill

Ah, narrowboats, pubs and real ale, a man after me own art. Great narrative here.

Agreed, excellent figurework in the people frequenting this pub and heads inclined towards each other indicating they are conversing with each other, lovely colour use in this painting as in their clothes, lovely light as well lighting up the features of the people sat in the right places for that light to fall on them

Now this I really like. It has such depth and atmosphere.

This is lovely! I especially love the expressions on the faces of the two men in the centre of the group, you've really caught the essence of friendship in this painting.

A seriously good painting Phil! Love the people and the atmosphere here.

This is my favourite of your postings so far. Great composition and use of light and colours. Very good painting and I hope people appreciate it!

4ft. X 2ft. in oils. This was the last painting I did in oils before attempting watercolour. It is a group portrait of bellringers, some now in that great belfry in the sky and most still with us. But a jolly lot. It now hangs permanently in The Blacksmith Arms, Greens Norton.
