This is a commissioned oil painting depicting Parkstone Station, Poole in the 1980's Working from a collection of old photographs taken in black and white at the time it covers a view of the adjacent 'hotel' on the far left to the "George Jennings" steam engine on the right which was employed to move materials to the Poole Pottery premises. The family group on the platform is that of the paintings commissioner and the main line is still active for trains travelling from Dorchester and Weymouth to London
