Peter I have the same reservations about including figures into my paintings. Looking at this, I don't think you have anything to worry about, you've done an excellent job. They look natural and part of the landscape. I also think you've done great work on the reflections of the fishing net pole too.

Today I’ve decided to tackle a difficult subject for me. I shy away from figure painting with a vengeance, but I desperately need to practice them more. So today’s subject is ‘Child’s Play’ Title is ‘The Rock Pool’ Painted on Arches NOT 140b paper. 1/8 imperial. Not a great painting, but that’s the whole idea of this challenge I think. To push your own boundaries.
