You have captured his character beautifully here Pete and his owners will be really ecstatic with this brilliant tribute to him

Beautifully painted and lovely dog

Very nice. I like it a lot . Think I might have a go at painting my dog

A lovely watercolour portrait Peter, a dog with character! Though I usually use Bockingford I tried some of the SW high white in a lily painting a while back and I really liked it.

Beautiful dog so well painted!!:)linda

Lovely painting. I must try watercolour for a dog painting I did mine in acrylic but I like this effect.

Well done! It's in its rightful place on the Home page. He's very appealing.

He really is looking at me and asking me something with a sad looking face. I am scratching my head to work out what! A lovely portrait, I wish I could get this effect with watercolour.

Thank you every one for your lovely comments. This was a special painting for me, I was so apprehensive before I started it, in how I was going to created the texture on the coat and his slightly odd look which was his character, but then again, often those initial steps in all paintings are the hardest.

He's great - quite an achievement in watercolour! (Thanks too for comment on my posting)

What a superb watercolour, technically excellent and you've really captured that personality in the face, I love it!

What a lovely character!

When did I miss this one!!, the portrait and the dog are just perfect.

Must have missed this one, Just a wonderful painting, bet they were thrilled.

Good luck with the cat and the pencils, I got too wound up with them, so back to graphite for the moment.

Painted this for my son & daughter in law, whose friends dog sadly passed away, really enjoyed this, used a different watercolour paper, Saunders Waterford - High White - HP - Acid free Archival - 140lb - stretched. - 31 x 23 cm - great for portrait painting, excellent water & pigment control. Didn't break up when punished. Defiantly recommend.
