The Missing Scalf

It's as though the snowman has left his impression as during the melting process and dissolved into the earth, with a carrot and mouth gaping open as if gasping for breath, then fading into the cushion of leaves, soggy and damp! A great painting and shows how the light reflects the sludge and icy remains of the snowman.
