Your painting is beautifully detailed and very well done Paul, but I doubt anyone is insisting loose is the only way to paint or even if it is a vogue. I'd say this site is a good exmple to the contrary. If we ever have to paint to any particular style or order I'll take up knitting or jigsaw puzzles ...or something. (-:

I love your beautifully detailed painting Paul. I prefer to work in detail and I'm no good at doing 'loose' so your paintings really appeal to me.

I echo what Jim said all styles can be good or bad this is a beautiful painting and I like it very much , my own style is actually tight naturally but most of my paintings now are loose but who cares quality is quality in any form.
