Pastel on pastelmat. This is a commission. The reference photograph was professionally taken and I did suggest that it could not be improved upon by drawing it. The customer however wanted a larger original drawing completed so reluctantly I agreed. After 3 weeks of pastel drawing it is finally complete. At the outset I decided to give the drawing an impressionistic feel with focus purely on the dogs' faces that way I wasn't copying the photograph exactly. Turned out well after all
