Front Garden on the Beach

I know it well - good one Paul

Lovely work, the textures, the varied marks and lines and the immediacy of the piece are super.

Lovely pen work Paul.

Full of character and interest Paul.

This is fascinating and so well done, Paul. I can see the attraction to sketch it...love that driftwood fence. (and everything else for that matter.)

You captured an interesting scene really well Paul.

This is absolutely brilliant Paul, beautifully painted.

It's a wonderful scene Paul, I like it very much.

Very nice Paul, the whole thing beautifully done. It's not Derek Jarman's garden is it? I've read about that but never visited.

Many thanks for all the kind comments. Lewis, driftwood and derelict fishing boats are is major theme of the whole area. Marjorie, I afraid it’s not Derek Jarmen’s garden, that’s in Dungeness, just up the coast. I know it well and may do a sketch of it sometime soon, but I’m not sure I can do it justice. The whole coast is a plethora or quirky scenery - a constant inspiration - well worth a visit.

Great work Paul!

Thanks again Gillian.

This is a pen and wash sketch from a photo that I took between lockdowns on Camber Sands. The house is right on the beach and owner obviously has a thing about flotsam and jetsam.
