I agree with Coral!

I like this very much Jo, it's a great painting.

Colour and energy.

Your work has a lot of energy and I love how you project such strong movement within your paintings Jo.

Thank you very much!

I seem always to have incorporated a sense of movement in my work. I remember aeons ago at the age of twelve being heavily criticised in art classes at school (when use of an eraser was not allowed) for my 'messy' drawings, as I could always' see' the implied movement around , say, a life model , and somehow wanted to represent that with my pencil. There is a bright side to this tale, however, as my art teacher encouraged me to use the discipline of drawing in pen. I should be grateful for that!

Beautiful painting- Love the movement you’ve got in this-

Painted after an amazing day on Berneray, North Uist. Showing off the island to my husband it was putting on a show...fantastic glittering light gave us plenty to enjoy as we made our way along the shore to our destination at the other end of our walk , where I'd booked dinner for later to celebrate a wedding anniversary! Painted in gouache on paper. Copyright: Jo Morton 2014
