It's really good Jo

Excellent, I love the matt nature of gouache and it really works well here.

Thank you!

Simple and very effective Jo, smashing!

That's a great painting, so effective

Thank you for all the interesting comments, people! It was the very simplicity of the subject as it presented itself to me that dictated the colours and manner in which it was painted! Certainly it encouraged me to use gouache more.

A very successful painting. It reminds me of the 'railway poster' style of my elderly art teacher in the late 1960s. (He often had us paint posters, book covers, record covers etc.)

It's rare for a 'finished picture' image to present itself for such fast 'plein air' completion, but this was one of them! I had the comparative luxury of special permission to stay in a caravan at Bank Ground farm, and this was the very special view that greeted me one morning, beautiful colours and all, causing me to grab paints and paper with considerable alacrity before the light decided to change! Painted in gouache on paper. Copyright : Jo Morton 2001
