The Graveyard Shift II by Pamela Haynes

Hey Pamela well done you being featured on a full page of your local newspaper, you obviously have a lot more experience than me! And you have obviously been exhibiting quit a lot locally as well. Quite a lot of us on this website could do with some tips from you on becoming known for our artwork in our areas, in other words getting access to spaces to show our works which can of course be surprising difficult particularly since the recession, around here there are a few cafe's that exhibit work but the best one's of course only show work worth lot more than mine would be worth!

Thank you for your response, the local paper was doing a series featuring local painters, and invited submissions from local artists, all but me seemed to have a fancy website to promote their work and also they belonged to 'art groups' where the group could exhibit in local galleries. You can do a website for free, no problem, just look up free websites and do your own. Cafe's are ok, too and even church attic sales or car boots. I sold a few on ebay in the catagory self representing artists. Always remember though, that your art is only worth what someone will pay! Just get your stuff out there by any means, give them as presents, swap for things. I even had a painting stolen! I took that to be a wonderful compliment, as it must have been worth thieving!
