Evening Walk II by Pamela Haynes

I like your painting, Pamela, it has an air of mystery to it. Where are the couple going? Why are they going into the wood?. The man seems to be in a hurry... the shadows add to the mystique. The lighting is great. Hope you get your first painting back.

There is no mystery - over the hill is a lovely thatched pub, with a crackling log fire, summer and winter and serving traditional ale with homemade steak and kidney pie! The couple's little dog has just run off ahead, he knows the route well! Thank you for taking the time to ponder over my painting, but I am not holding my breath for the return of the original.

I did this painting for a second time as I sold the first painting (in oil pastel) but it was 'lost' by the Royal Mail. I was really miffed! So I re painted in oil this time, from a photocopy of my original. I have yet to find out if my buyer is still interested, but feel like keeping this one for a while. I do like the medium of oil paint but the oil pastel is so quick and easy, especially in these winter days with so little good light. I hope I have captured the atmosphere of an early summer evening for a late summer couple.
