How kind of you both to take the time and trouble to comment! Mind you, looking at the picture again, I think it looks as if he has stolen a chipolata.......it was meant to be a worm, I think!

The shadow cast from the kingfisher is just right. Smashing painting.

"Kingfisher" - Although some people have said it looks as if the kingfisher is eating a chip, I was quite pleased with my first attempt at feathers! The photograph of the painting is not perfect as the head appears rather too dark - I have learned with experience about photographing v. scanning. I used a picture from the RSPB magazine and, hopefully, managed to match the colours quite well.
