Paul selected Bob's painting for critique saying: 'You did a nice painting here Bob. I really like the distance and shafts of light coming through the trees, The light and shadows on the track are particularly convincing. You began with some great neutral tones on the left but then progressed towards the right with brighter colour. This may have been intentional but the warm colours on the bank and light on the track would have been greatly enhanced had you continued with neutral across the backdrop. You can really steer the attention towards a focus by manipulating the tones in this way. I hope you found the exercise and my critique helpful'.
