Paul Talbot-Greaves Challenge One - June 2017
Germaine De Luca sent in her version of Paul's June challenge saying: 'This challenge was very helpful after reading Paul Talbots's-Greaves article Light versus dark. I paint in oil, and used Phalo blue and alizarin crimson to block in my darks. Then I added cad yellow and titanium white to block in my mid tones and add the sky. After that, I introduced the different shades of green for the grass and foliage to add light, shadows, and texture. I tried to remain very loose and impressionistic with my brush strokes throughout. This challenge gave me better understanding of values, which was something I had been struggling with.'
