Paul Talbot-Greaves Challenge Two - July 2017
Lynne Whitfield sent in her version of Paul's challenge saying: 'Initially the photo looked simple but how wrong I was - so many stark tonal values and textures ! Before applying paint I sketched a few marks with a fine point masking pen to preserve grassy highlights. Following PTG's lead I used his pallet but added cobalt light turquoise & splashes of burnt sienna to break up greens & vary tones . I achieved soft edges with wet in wet techniques using a no 5 round brush. Dark shadows and hard edges were achieved with either scrumbling with neat sepia or applying it wet with a number 10 flat brush'
