Works very well Jane, like the texture thatt the gesso has brought.

Very convincing wall

Jane Clarke sent in her version of Sunshine and Snow saying: 'I have painted Paul's photo of 'Sunshine and snow' using mount board that was washed over with a mainly purple/light blue base. I used thick gesso applied with a palette knife initially for the wall and tissue paper for the large tree. The tree was overpainted with greens mixed with blues to darken them and then the wall had burnt umber dragged over the area to catch in the crevices. I decided that the snowy areas needed more gesso to give the impression of depth and brightness then applied a purple glaze to represent shadows on the snow'
