John Cowan sent in his version of Paul's exercise saying: 'I have painted January`s exercise of a path with sunlight and shadows using System 3 Acrylic paints onto a !5" x 11" plywood board. I had underpainted the board with a dark mixture of Ultramarine and Burnt Umber this shows through in the Sky. The painting was completed using wide hog brushes, I used various mixtures of lemon and cadmium yellow to highlight the sunlit areas. I am really enjoying these articles by PTG they also allow me to paint without my usual wracking of brains for a suitable subject'
