PTG Exercise 2 - Shadows on a Path
Helen Melia sent in her version of this month's exercise saying: 'This is an interpretation focusing on the stile, aiming to convey a thin wintry light. Painted on 16x12" canvas board, the coloured ground is a mix of burnt sienna, cadmium red and crimson; the sky is titanium white mixed with a touch of cerulean blue and cad yellow. The greens were created with mainly prussian blue and cadmium yellow, raw sienna, titanium white and a touch of ultramarine. Deep shadows are prussian blue mixed with burnt umber. Mainly painted with a no 10 hog flat brush, finer detail done with detailed point and filbert brushes.'
