PTG Exercise 2 - Shadows on a Path
Sheila Karran sent in her version of Paul's exercise saying: 'I covered an old acrylic painting on a 14”x18” box canvas with a thick coating of cadmium red acrylic. I retained flecks of the red base colour painting shadows and light areas with variety of greens created from mixtures of yellows, ochres and cobalt blue. The red base also showed faintly through the covering of very pale sky. A flat 1” brush was used to indicate the clumps of grass. I attempted to achieve some aerial perspective with shorter and bluer strokes with a smaller flat brush as they receded into the background.'
