I like that a lot!!

Excellent Denise. Love the pattern on the jumper.

Fab - what does Robert think? He was a cute but sad little boy in the photo you worked from.

This is really good Denise and you have done a superb job of it, particularly as you are so new to portrait painting. Come on your lordship let have your view.

Well done Denise. Really good!

Very interesting to see Roberts photo as a colour painting. Well done Denise.

You got a great expression there, Denise. What a coincidence though!

Very good Denise. I'm doing one in acrylic but still a WIP!

Super Denise, I’ve just seen his twin further up the page…..well done.

Thanks for your lovely comments David, Carrie, Heather, Paul, Linda, Christine, Marjorie, Richard, Steve and Fiona. Three of us have painted Robert today, I am sure we will see some more.

What a lovely pastel portrait Denise - again the eyes are great.

Denise, great job. And I think this tells us something about portraiture, compared with the other one posted today: people vary - from minute to minute; sometimes we're just not up to capturing their appearance of course, but in this case I recognize me, as I do in the other painting, even though it's different. You've done a fine bit of work here, and I fully intend to steal your image and put it on my hard drive. Self-obsessed? Oh tush - I'm as modest as Donald Trump.

You’ve a lovely talent for these portraits Denise- it’s a grand job

Your comments are greatly appreciated thanks Sarah, Robert, Rachel and Mirian.

Great portrait well done Denise, though I was seeing double, love the inquisitive expression

As I view this there are two versions on the gallery page, each different, but undeniably the same young Robert. Excellent work Denise.

A lovely innocence about this portrait Denise, recognised by the owner is a boon. You captured a heart rending expression.

I did this in pastel from a black and white photo of Robert of the forum. The photo was taken 60 years ago, so I thought I would try and do some colour. It was really hard because the was not very much shadow in the photo itself but I really enjoyed trying a bit of guess work along side looking at the photo. I hope he think's it's reasonable.
