What a great suprise to see such a painting of this well known Ribchester landmark. Its a "real" artistic effort. ( I have used MY photograph of this building in a photo/sound Audio-Visual sequence of the River Ribble). I like your loose and spontanious style which I find so difficult. A great painting portraying that Ribchester feeling. Superb.

Thanks for your comments Bill, I live a couple of miles from Ribchester a beautifully old roman village. Iā€™m foremost an oil painter, my foray into watercolours is through encouragement from friends. I started to paint watercolours like I paint oils ā€“ no chance ā€“ everyone ended up looking a mess! Then I started painting watercolours wet on wet and you have seen the result, would you believe this is only my second painting using that method! Again thanks for your comments.

Many thanks, David, for taking the trouble to look at my set of paintings. Your comments are valued and I do see them in a positive way. I think its important to develop and maintain a reliable and satisfying style of our own for the best rewards. All the best. Bill.

Really like this piece.. the colours are beautiful, and it projects a lovely feeling of the town.

Thanks for the comments Yu, I happy you like my version of the White Bull.

I just saw this on the right hand side gallery: beautiful! Very strong drawing and beautiful colours. Well done!

Thanks Mia. Sorry for the delay in my reply, just returned from hoilday.

A lovely painting, David. Love the subtle colours.
