Thanks for the comment regarding the clothing. I started off with the basic drawing, using a bog standard HB. For the shading I used a Sketch & Wash pencil by General Pencil Company, Jersey City, NJ, USA. I thinned the oil paint until it became very runny and gave each colour two coats. I was just experimenting to see what the result would be.
