I really enjoyed working on this painting.I used Daler-rowney watercolour pencils. But I did not use any water! I used nivea soft moisturising cream.I t contains jojoba oil, which I think did the trick.I have used vasaline in the past but did not like it.

I've been there. This painting brings the memories back - well done.

So colourful, bet it smells nice too Gerald!

Thanks for your nice comments,I know what you mean Carole, but this street is ok! I was stood on the ruins of the opera house, destroyed in WW2, there was no busybody chasing me. I was left alone.

I live on Gozo! This is lovely, Gerald, very evocative!

Ps. I meant that the Nivea would make the painting smell nice ;)

So colourful and ebullient... so much to see here

A stand out piece Gerald, vibrant and very well done.

Must try your technique next time I'm using Sun screen.....I use watercolour crayons (Caran Cache neocolor) but use boring water. Love the lovely bright colours youv painted the buildings etc. Interesting texture is that corrugated paper....more please😕😆😐

Just love artists who experiment and challenge the status quo. Like Malcolm - also been to Valletta and you have captured the "atmosphere" of what I remembered. Keep inspired - you can paint and I'm sure like all painters, you have a "warehouse" of inspirational ideas waiting for creation.

Thanks Clive,I think I have now found a style but as you say I love trying new things.
