Utterly gorgeous, and so beautifully done; The darker background sets it off perfectly.

I really like this a lot and it's very well done but, dare I say it, it also looks like a decapitated head, really would suggest you add some body to it. Just saying, hope you don't mind.

The dark blue really sets off the colours in the lion. Lovely pastel painting.

To be honest the decapitated head thing never occurred to me, as paintings often focus on a key detail and fade out or omit the rest. You could add just the slightest hint of colour though to suggest that the body is faded out rather than missing. Also I forgot to say: great title!
