Oil on linen panel 30 x 30 cm. Friend and fellow artist, Stewart, was always encouraging me to do more portraits and, in 2023, he agreed to sit for me wearing his council hi-viz, an outfit in which he had become a familiar and much loved figure around Farnham, doing those jobs for which we are all grateful but don’t want to do! I so enjoyed spending the day chatting with him and getting his honest criticism. Stewart passed away in December 2024, aged 86. They don’t make characters like him anymore.
