‘Polly’
One of my (gardening) customers - a lovely young lady in her 90’s - used to have parrots as pets. She lived abroad and smuggled her African grey parrot to the UK in her hand luggage (back in the day..,)! She has a painting of another parrot (beautiful botanic-type painting), and asked if I could paint the African grey ‘to match’. ‘Linda’, I say, ‘I can’t paint like that…! Way to neat for me!’… ‘Well, it will be a challenge for you’, she says! Her parrot didn’t have a name, so she said we’ll call it Polly.
