Very dreamlike and atmospheric Nancy, I can almost see Gandalf, Bilbo and the band of dwarves walking into the scene silhouetted against the mountain.

Great as is Nancy but the choice is yours

Imagination works best on not knowing and letting the viewer decide Nancy. I'd leave them wondering. It's fine as is.

What a lovely ethereal picture, Nancy. Just what Tolkein would have had in mind. I'm not sure I would add anything to the foreground. I would just add some lighter colours to the bright yellow.

Lovely work and beautiful colours, Nancy.

Thank you all for your suggestions and comments. I am thinking about a figure in the foreground Barry. I am still looking at it and playing with sketches now. Thanks Dennis, Cesare and Maureen & Jim, saying you like it as is; and Jill, I do want to do something with that yellow (too bright to me) in front.

Happy birthday dear JRR Tolkein, (Jan 3, 1892), my favorite author. I have read and re~read all of his wonderful works since I was 12. I will read the Hobbit (my favorite) again this winter. I started painting this acrylic experiment, fantasy style painting, no photos, just working with paint and ideas. Not sure what to do with the foreground? Any ideas? As in my recent spirit wolf, wondering if I should have an image emerge from this fantasy misty background. Its 28" by 22" wide, canvas.
