Pastel - you're going to have to teach me how to use pastel, because I can't get on with it at all; better than I was, but that's not saying much. Remarkable painting, this: it would be interesting to see what you could make of it in oil.

I agree with Robert on the use of the word remarkable, what a pleasure to look at here :)

Hi Murray, lovely to see your super pastel wildflower meadow on this site as well as the SAA one, you have really caught this great scene perfectly

Thank you all for your comments you are all so encouraging. Ros did you know that I was at the SAA's 'It's All About Art' Show on Thursday as a PA and did a half hour demonstration in Artisan oils in the afternoon? As a result I am going up to Newark in October to spend a day filming three half hour demonstrations and a few short clips of techniques and tips for their TV series 'A Splash Of Paint' I am really looking forward to it though am of course a little daunted!

I really admire the way you have captured so many different greens and yet kept a very natural image. This is another lovely painting in a portfolio full of lovely paintings!. At what time and on which channel does 'a Splash of Paint' air? I would really like to watch you using Artisan as I use it regularly myself.

The detail in this is amazing. Looks very effective both distane and close up. Love the bits of red in the meadow.

Hello Julie, You can watch 'A Splash Of Paint' on Sky channel 191 or on Freesat channel 400 or you can watch it on your computer via the SAA website, however I have no idea when it is likely to be aired as the filming doesn't happen until around October, In the meantime however there is a short demonstration where I paint some middle distant trees on the SAA site that you could watch in the meantime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVZ_mC-hAUI

Lovely feeling of Summer with the buzzing bees! Great detail.

this is stunning. I always admire good pastel work and this is very good.

Hi Murray caught up with your extra replies on here about your work bring aired on the SAA, will take a look at that, you said the 'splash of paint' not bring filmed until this month, well we are of course heading to towards the end of the month so I guess your session will have been filmed by now, great to read of your success with the website, will take a look at your short recording you mentioned above painting middle distance trees as well, sounds like its going to be our own SAA type of 'Murraymania' with your excellent art in place of tennis!!!

Thank You all for your very generous comments. Ros, I am this week preparing all of the bits and pieces for the filming for 'A Splash Of Paint' which takes place next Tuesday 29th October I will be doing a pastel painting and two water-mixable oils and a lot of tips, techniques and bits about materials and equipment and not just for oils and pastels. If you would like to e-mail me the addresss is: [email protected] and have you had a look at my blog? murraysart.blogspot.com
