This has an almost 19th century, Sisley like charm to it. I think the towpath, pulls the eye away from the bridge and splendidly painted river, perhaps something to break it up? But that's a minor criticism.

Thank you,Tony, all constructive criticism welcome! The Sisley reference is immensely gratifying. It was the path which gave me the most trouble. It's been six different colours with varying amounts of encroaching weeds.

Love the light on the bank!

I, too, thought immediately of Sisley. A lovely scene very well drawn and captured with an impressive palette, Steve.

I can feel the peace in this painting, the depth in the water and the sun kissed reeds to the waters edge.

I took many reference photos when researching for my book "Bridges of Dee" that i didn't use and this painting is based on one of them. It's a lovely sunny if breezy day, with a full river and lush growth. The contrast between the bridge and tower and the greenerysets it off cheerily.
