Two lovely paintings, Philip. Long tailed tits are one of my favourites as well - we don't see so many of them at the feeders these days but they used to visit in quite large numbers. (They remind me of powder puffs with their delicate colouring and little round bodies!)

Watercolour on an eighth imperial sheet (275 x 190 Saunders 200lb NOT paper. Not my usual subject matter, which in any case is varied to say the least, but these exquisite little birds are a favourite of mine. I enjoyed putting the very loose washes in the background to suggest an out of focus camera shot, while taking a little more time over the delicate plumage
